Bushido is an on-line role-playing game set in traditional Japan, shortly after the beginning of the Tokugawa Era.  Japan has just fought a difficult civil war, but its various feudal subdivisions are finally united under one throne.  In addition, the country has begun isolating itself ruthlessly from the rest of the world...and there is growing unrest from deep within Japan that might upset the fragile peace that has finally been built!

Bushido is played on the Illusionary Minds Chat system, a not-for-profit and chatter-supported RPG site.  Joining IMC is free and private.

Bushido is set in a variant version of classical Japan, circa the year 1615.  If you are unfamiliar with the setting, there are some resources you can hit up for some basic information.  This site does not contain extended information about Japanese culture, so you'll need to have at least a passing acquaintance with it before playing.

We are using a custom game system that borrows some elements from the White Wolf system (the die pools), which is designed to be quick and basic.  If you are already familiar with the Sengoku or Five Rings systems, this shouldn't be all that difficult.

The emphasis is on roleplaying and not dice.  We're looking for characters from all walks of life: soldiers, nobles, assassins, merchants, farmers, and just plain folks.

If you want to learn how to create a character in the system and get started, click on "Character Creation" above.  Also check out the message board, which contains the most up-to-date information.

If you want to drop me a line and let me know what you think, click "Contact Me" on the menu bar.
